Focus on Hypertension
Hypertension is Australia’s most common risk factor for heart attack, heart failure, stroke, renal failure, dementia and death. The Australian National Taskforce on Hypertension 2024 reported 1 in 3 Australians have hypertension, of which only 48% are diagnosed. Furthermore, of those diagnosed only 32% have their hypertension adequately controlled. It affects the lives of patients and relatives, and has a $137 billion GDP productivity cost over a lifetime. Zaplutus Health aims to be a new front line enabling technology to turn this around.
Zaplutus Health has spent ten years in evidence based research through one of Australia’s top universities to develop its cuff-less blood pressure measurement technology. Combined with lived experience and clinician co-design, we are bringing to fruition the next generation of digital vital signs technology that is versatile diagnostic, automated and wireless.
